apparently is affecting some people or more than some people you see NBN Co doesn't really want to share that information so we don't really know out of nearly 100,000 people connected to the space infrastructure apparently there are some who are experiencing issues now I have jumped on a few sites looked around and seems every one of them is reporting full outages so I'm not sure what Indian Co means by some let me know in the comments below if you're affected by the outage obviously if you're in satellites also if you could let me know what speeds you're getting on satellite in connection I'd really like to know are for my own research and obviously for videos like this also in regards to a few videos ago my own damn hand I can't even write my scripts correctly messing up wireless NBN with satellite so I will say sorry and I'd like to let you know that I didn't do well at uni in writing my radio show scripts were usually song lyrics so I just kind of looked like I had something in my hands but it was just crap well on Monday problems began being reported across the network and on the 22nd it became official estimated premises affected is around 3,000 to 4,000 but there is no way to

verify this by anyone so it could be bubble punch nothing now here is the fun thing I read today when writing this story that on the 22nd NBN Co has fixed the issues but right now online you can check the status of some Indian code satellite providers that the services are still broken they have a big red X on it and there is no ETA on a fix as I film this it's the 20 26:26 so either they have fixed a majority of the areas but there are still a few premises having problems all the problems have been resolved and it's still ongoing and from past experience it's hard to trust what comes out of the NBN media room let's move on to our more pretty much last story but it's in two parts so it's kind of like two
stories this time it's Telstra and I suppose it's not good news for shareholders but at the same time after all the cutbacks it probably won't affect the value of the stock in any particular or meaningful way now when I traveled up to mine sites enroller Australia Telstra was the only operator available their coverage was pretty darn good and if you live rural you know telstra has been pretty much the only one now last time was there in Queensland I saw Optus having a bit of a play in the market in fact they were offering very similar deals to tell strated and take them up on it because I went straight to Telstra nonetheless I had a great experience with Telstra service in the area where there was nothing but a svelte and kangaroos and mine sites obviously so it's no surprise that over the years telstra has had a monopoly on rural coverage and service well that is quickly changing the air Triple C has released their communication marker report for last year 2018 to 2019 now before we talk about the specifics of Telstra's deal or issue they're having let's talk some highlights from the report first off fixed broadband has decreased in the annual price by 1.5 percent and increased by 57% of plans with unlimited data available to the general consumer good stuff on the mobile phones server side there has been a decrease in annual price of six point six percent and I certainly have felt the price go down myself and a 65 percent increase in data allowance which is fantastic so much so that I don't need to remember to turn my Wi-Fi on when I get home even though most phones do it automatically nowadays the unlucky time that you leave it on won't kill your wallet at all in regards to mobile broadband that price has decreased by sixteen point four percent annually and the data allowance which you may remember has always been extremely low has jumped by 118 percent which is pretty darn good and overall data download has by 47% we're fixed-line accounts for 88 percent of mobile recounts for only 12 percent now NBN activations have jumped from 4 million to 5.5 million Telstra legacy copper declined from 6 million to 4.8 million because it should have maybe 15 years ago but here we are and mobile voice calls have declined from 67 billion to 64 billion which is actually quite interesting let me know in the comments are you guys finding that you texting more on message or maybe video calling because voice calls might now be turning into online calls via maybe Wi-Fi providers like let's say Facebook or whatsapp whatever app is actually not counted against the voice calls now the main idea of this report is to measure broadband statistics in Australia leading to investigations and hopefully enforcement of requirements and make sure that NBN Co is doing the right thing now Amy & Co is now called in the end but I like to Co at the end it makes a little bit official in my mind now lastly I want to mention this rough from the report how much of the NBN service is actually regional versus Metro and out of Metro now you could potentially count Metro and out of Metro together but I would say a regional our Metro probably fits better together because these services are the wireless satellite and very very slow DSL connections this might give you an idea of the scale and breakdown of what NBN is up against in any case overall NBN pricing has gone down and the connections have gone up rural connections are still a big part and that's why NBN goes split into a regional only division so we're hoping in the future things go well so far slowly so good so now back to Telstra here is what the a Triple C said Telstra maintains its dominance across fixed-line and mobile services however its share of the market is being challenged as some
consumers switched to new entrants on the NBN and in the mobile market obviously competition it seems that the NBN has created a competitive market unfortunately for Telstra with them losing many potential and current customers to other NBN providers and obviously mobile service providers let's have a look at Optus and regional areas and the regional stranglehold over the next few years will be loosened as continues the report notice to say unless Telstra do some drastic service and pricing campaigns at this stage they're still trying to get their heads around how the consumer works with in the end or how then being works and for a little while longer they can still blame in being for the slow speeds that will soon hopefully stop Telstra CEO any pen said in mid 2018 little while back
