everyone welcome to this episode of angry TV where we're going to look at why and if you should buy from the Apple refurbished store so I've been looking for a replacement for my iPad pro but she's getting on for three years old now for a little while and as you well know I'm a tight-ass so I've been looking around see what I can find was it gonna be a new iPad prior was it gonna be something different because fundamentally I use it a lot every day and it needs to be it needs to be decent it

needs to be up-to-date it needs to be fast enough to do what I need it to do everything Apple is massively massively expensive as you know and there isn't really any ways that you can kind of save cash doing it some of the stores like John Lewis and Curry's offer small discounts but you know it's better than nothing but it's still not going to save you a fortune so having looked for it while I kind of thought about maybe looking at their the refurbished store now Apple do what they call a certified refurbished program where they get kickback that's been I'd no return for whatever reason perhaps it's not working properly or clean the old Apple stock I guess and they refurbish it is new they put it on their website in a bit the websites actually quite hard to find you might not even necessarily know

they do it but uh discounts are relatively healthy they're generally around 15% and they do iPhones iPads pretty much the whole range but it's only available every so often and you kind of have to grab it while it's there it's worth checking the site daily to see if the respect that you want is there but they don't last very long there's been a couple of cases this paper I found something that I wanted and within two or three hours it's disappeared so you really do have to kind of grab it while you can so I thought for you know because I needed something new and I thought perhaps it'd make a decent video that I'd get something and unbox it see what it is and then you can guys can see whether it's

something that you might want to do to these box it's got my guess on is fine okay I'm a boxing style here we go it's the wrong way around that's good telly for years now but as you can see it's a new MacBook Pro now it's just helping the package in that it's looks pretty similar to what you'd pick up in an Apple store but it actually has say five refurbished on it and I'm guessing that's probably a illegal thing because they obviously can't tell something that's that's been returned just new but yeah I mean look would you be terribly upset if that arrived new boxing taking off a horse fabbi skin so let's take it off and say it's a completely sealed so it sport to point out that this is my own money you don't I've spent on this not being paid to do it this is actually my own hard-earned so I'm not gonna know what's in this box any more than you are so he could be in for a nice surprise or we could be in for a massive disappointment so here goes okay let's have a look let's get into it okay so just Tom day as you guys can see it it's coming up nicely over there looks pretty decent to me to be honest I mean if you went to the Apple store you're probably gonna see something fairly fairly similar to that no nicely wrapped up all the pull tags on it put that there for a sec okay in the box you've obviously got their

USB C charger nicely repackage this it's perfectly clean let's say that's no that's that's insane any use at all perfectly clean really really quite nice yeah that's gotta be new okay in here we've got again it's all it's all new but then they send this a fiber expose probably they do put new accessories in but this you know there's no signs of that's concentrating out of apples factory somewhere we've got the user guide new bits and bobs classic Apple stickers power brick in there look leave the box away again no kiss there's nothing is this its new you would never you know I thought if you proposed it is a new brick I don't know let's have a look it's there's no signs of way on that it's as you find her I should find a new one it's obviously this is the important bit that's how the locus technique packaging off and see what's what [Applause] okay then of of them my grubby fingerprints check all the edges check the casing even the even Apple logo hasn't got a mark on it not a single mark the feet look like they've never touched a desk the bottom casing is it's just it's perfect this it's new I mean it helps that this

mother was obviously a 2019 model so it was released in July which means that you know the worst way it's four months old wherever it's been uh ever it's got back just looking in their Thunderbolt ports we know they're clean there's nothing in their headphone ports the same nothing okay so let's open me out and see showing you first time using what's in here screen protector nice I don't might have to do this this way it's typed up straight away I've even turned it on and they started up let's have a look let's take a closer look we've got yeah it's ready to go I mean it just it just isn't a mark on it there is C working perfectly as you can see have a look looks yourself super thing I mean that is there is no getting away from it that is a brand new MacBook Keys a perfect trackpads perfect palm rest the perfect Macie its new there is there is no doubt about that that is a new laptop and you certainly wouldn't have anyone think you'd saved yourself 15% on the cost of that [Music] why wouldn't you

why wouldn't you do it I shot it down I set that up later so there you go so that's that is a genuine purchase from the refurbished certified whatever it is store and I'm quite amazed by that because it's new it's a new laptop it works it works it's the touch Bowl model the 13-inch MacBook Pro with the 1.4 gigahertz quad-core processor 250 gigs ram if you were to walk it into the Apple store on Regent Street today or any other Apple store this would be 1500 quid I paid twelve hundred and sixty-nine 233 off for a new laptop why would you do it that's amazing that certainly won't be the last give
