this week's video we're gonna be doing an unboxing and setup off the Telstra TV
3rd generation so let's get into it so the first thing we're gonna look at it's
the side of the box and then we'll show you the back of the box so what you get
in the box you get the Telstra TV that the remote you get a 2.0 HDMI the power
adapter and what you need is obviously going to be you need a HDMI TV Telstra
broadband is optional then an antenna is optional as well so if you don't want
to access free to which TV you don't need that plug-in an antenna so keep that
in mind as well now we'll head to the back of the box and show you what you get
there so the back of the box this is where all your entertainment is and it's
quickly easy to set up as you see down the bottom right there and there and
what the features is is 4k HD are compatible voice recognition free to wear and
the Telstra TV app so there are a few things that you may want to look into if
you've got a 4k TV make sure you take advantage of that HDR features then
you'll be greeted to let's talk entertainment and at the back of
that it's
going to show you exactly how to set that one up so I'll show you how to said
that but we'll show you that in this video as well we'll see you got your
important arm product information guide from Roku so you can take it rid of
that if you want and now we've got the Telstra TVs now if you can see it's a
little bit smaller than the second generation so it's a little bit smaller
right there so that's one great thing that's going to small weight in Roku I
was hoping we would get a Telstra TV stick but not this year maybe we might see
that in another two years and imagine new things with the remote is obviously a
volume in your mute and your mic and the power button and we'll show you just
how to set that up later today as well also you got your 2.0 HDMI right there
and then you've got your power cable so that's everything in the box keep in
mind you can always get that a hundred and twenty five dollars so if you bought
it from now I'm not sure of the it's going to expire but you do get a hundred
and twenty-five dollars tells your TV box office credit so make sure you take
advantage of that if you buy your tell TV I'm not sure when this is going to
expire so it may expire it may not I have no idea if it's going to so I just
want to let you know if you're thinking about getting that tells TV now is the
time to get that because you also when you redeem that Telstra TV box office
credit twenty-five dollars you have two years to use this to make sure you use
it within two years or the credit will expire so keep that in mind so if you're
edema today will expire in 2021 on this date so keep that in mind so that's the
first it will expire on the first of March 2021 so keep that in mind if you
don't use it in two years the credit will expire now we'll take a look at all
the ports that obviously you go to Internet HDMI SD antenna and power and then
at the side of the box you're gonna have nothing there you just have a little
tag the front of the box you got a LED light it's a little bit dimmer than the
second generation the second generation was so bright this one is a lot dimmer
now and then you got a USB me I'm not sure if this is a 2.0 or at 3.00 HD are
the USB I'm not sure right there if you guys know let us know down below but it
does not say on the box another thing I will quickly let you know guys know is
now you can pause up to 30 minutes on your free-to-air TV that's something you
might want to do especially if you're watching a game and you just want to
quickly pause it and you want to go do something you can easily pause your game
on 7 May or any free-to-air channel so keep that in mind as well now I'll show
you what cables to plug in and then we'll show you how to set it up on the TV
so let's get into it hey guys so basically all we need to plug in here is plug
in your power it's just working your power in this input then you get your HDMI
and then if you had an antenna available whack that one in there and then if
you got Wi-Fi or Internet and plug in it's right here that's only for internet
I'm plugging in Internet because when we do the setup we won't need a blog
login with any Wi-Fi passwords so that's why it's better to have internet right
there so now I am let's do these full set up hey guys so now what you want to
do is just working your batteries so just work in the batteries just like that
and basically as you see it's currently connecting and there you go we're in so
now what we'll do should see get started now because I clicked on wired it's
gonna search the wide connector connection I'll just wait for that okay there
citizen update available it shouldn't take too much longer so it is moving
pretty fast we'll just quickly wait for this so the main thing we're gonna look
at see if the interface is a bit different I don't think it is a but then again
I could be wrong I'm not sure if much has changed I'm pretty sure the interface
is the same the only major differences you can pause up to 30 minutes which is
great so for 0 for 30 minutes on trade away is awesome also in an on video
we'll be taking a look at the telstra TV on box office and that's a brand new
app it's called it used to become beep on movies so we're gonna head and
definitely take a look at that one and we'll take a brief look at it in this
video but we'll do a full review on it and probably tomorrow so we're 87 okay
it's stopped moving okay it's taken a little longer okay there we go so just
gonna quickly do a restart and then we can continue that you set up so basically
you can select your display type depending on what your TV's come um has
compatible so we'll just check online as compatible okay 1080p see ya I'm not
on a 4k TV so I'm not gonna be access to 4k HDR so just hit OK to that okay so
now let's configure that power button and the volume so this is where you're
gonna have to enter the brand of your TV so you have to enter the brand of your
TV right there so I'm going to quickly enter mine in and we'll be back okay so
a back sort of found my brand of TV so basically what you wanna do is click on
that and then hit yes and if it has stopped yes again so as you see well you
can actually see it but I can the volume is actually changing on my TV and then
you're just gonna agree to this so now when we hit mute that's now muting and
the volume works so that's great that quick setup it's actually really
significant bit that quick but Wow so we do is working your TV now if you've
got a VEVO TV all you need to type in is his'n for your TV if you've got a VEVO
TV okay keep that in mind so it's scrolling down you probably should read this
agreement but we're not gonna worry about it okay so it's currently downloading
now if it can sometimes the touch TV can see my account with the Telstra
broadband if it can that's great but if it can't I'm gonna have to go on the
computer and activate so we'll just see what happens so that should be getting
my account up okay Wow awesome it has found my account I don't have to login
have to do anything all we can do now is get started brilliant I didn't want to
manually activate because that would have been a bit annoying so it's currently
linking up and basically that's all the hard stuff done after this we you
should be able to enjoy start watching Foxtel Netflix and if you had a 4k TV you'll
be able watching a glorious 4k HDR it's still gonna look pretty good on a 1080p
TV so don't worry about that so something has gone wrong with the activation so
we'll try again if it still has failed I may have to enter to enter it manually
which I don't want to do but we'll have to see how this goes so I'll try it
again if it still doesn't work I'll have to enter it manually so obviously
there's some sort of fail with the linking up which isn't good it delays us a
bit I mean we'll have to log onto the computer into it search and take this to
this long so I have feeling there's a little bit of that something has gone
wrong so I'm not sure what it is a copy an internet outage so obviously it
can't reach the account so we'll have to go on the Telstra activate page that's
okay that's pretty quick I'm pretty sure it isn't else track event page let me
just check what that URL is okay no worries yeah it is on the actual enormous
part okay we don't need to worry about it and we're not gonna connect the
internet so we'll just skip this one for now then you go okay so we can do more
than this this tells you what you can do okay we should be done now brain still
linking okay so this is the thing could okay from our telstra TV at 22 apps so
it's now gonna update every single 22 apps ahead of my last telstra TV which
may take a while so I may have to pause the video it took us to 22 and we can
return and see how that's going okay yes so this is
gonna probably take up to
10 minutes to do so we'll come back in about 10 minutes and we'll show you what
to do next so we're all done now so basically we can just hit this and we're
all done and now you can start redeeming the hundred and twenty-five dollars
will redeem that now I do not know
what would happen if you hit skip so I would
not recommend doing that so just routine because you don't want to miss out on
a hunger dinner and $25 for TV rentals so not quite sure what it's currently
doing okay so we just have to arm continue and then you have to agree that
you're over 18 years old okay then you're gonna need to put a passcode or a pin
on your account so it can be like just your Foxtel pin like 1 2 3 4 let's a to
see if he'll accept then brilliant and now you can choose what you want to lock
so I'm just gonna leave everything unlocked cuz there's no point of locking all
that and we're in okay so we'll just continue that and you can start renting
your movies right there so let's actually get out of all this and we'll show
you what you can arm what's different so basically you still go up we'll just
close mr. wing so basically the home page is pretty much the same and you still
get your home your live is search the store the App Store and settings it's
basically everything is the same other day so we go back to home then you got Telstra
TV recommended my apps they sell you everything over here is pretty much the
same so yeah everything over here is pretty much the same um so yeah that's
basically everything gonna set up we'll just do a quick and see if the voice
control works we'll just quickly show you that and remember tomorrow we are

few options for that okay well I didn't expect someone to talk back to me um
that's interesting okay so someone actually talks back to you so we'll try that
again will actually search for all a blockbuster movie like a skyscraper let's
see what happens there skyscraper sure sure I found a few options for that so I
like the talkback feature that's actually pretty good um so that's pretty nice
and as you see you sealed a cast in skyscraper right there also from this page
you can also just click on who you want to see and you'll be able to see all
the movies that he is in and if you click on it you'll show you where you can
watch it as well so at the moment this is available till TV box office I would
have figured this would have been available on Fox Hill as well but it's not
showing it is so yeah that's basically everything thing that's special
everything in today's video we showed you the unboxing and we did a quick setup
video and we showed you a bit arm of the axe like you've still got everything the
interface is the exactly the same and you got your home your live your search
and all that there then you got recommended and that's basically it for today's
video and we showed you the voice recognition so we'll do a full review
